SSL Announces the SSL 1: Their Answer to Solo Audio Interfaces

Solid State Logic has announced the new SSL 1, a compact and affordable audio interface with the same form factor as the powerful and popular SSL 2+. The new SSL 1 promises to be perfect for those with small home studios doing personal projects to those wanting to refine their craft and enter the next level of production.

With the same intuitive form factor as the other smaller SSL audio interfaces, the 2-in/2-out USB-C audio interface has two inputs. The “1” main input in the SSL 1 has an XLR-in with the vaunted SSL microphone preamp, +48V Phantom, HPF, and the legacy 4K analog enhancement based off the classic SSL 4000 recording consoles. The SSL 1 also comes with a secondary inst/line input for guitars, basses, or line-level instruments like synths or drum machines. That input has DC coupled outputs, so you can send CV (control voltage) so you can control synths through MIDI with the SSL 1.

The SSL 1 uses state-of-the-art 32-bit/192 kHz AD/DA converters and has a secondary 5V USB connection for mobile power, making it perfect for taking on the road and when using phones or tablets for your DAW. A powerful high-current headphone output makes it perfect for running high-impedance studio headphones.

SSL isn’t pulling any punches with this new one, so if you’re a solo creator or need an upgrade to your current home studio interface, check out the new SSL 1!
