RODE has developed a brand-new Micro-Electro-Mechanical-System (MEMS) microphone technology they’ve dubbed SONAURA, the culmination of five years of research and development collaboration with Infineon Technologies. The new SONAURA microphone technology aims to redefine how professional audio is captured, with its ultra-compact 4mm x 5mm dimensions, industry-leading Signal-to-Noise Radio (SNR) of 83 dB, and a self-noise of 11 dBA.
This tech will be introduced across new next-gen products from RODE and the Freedman Group lineup beginning with the L1 sub-miniature lavalier micro from Lectrosonics.
In the meantime, RODE will be unveiling the new RODELINK II, the next generation of their wireless UHF microphone systems, along with some new and exciting peripherals. The RODELINK II supports 32-bit float on-board recording and includes two transmitters with lavalier mics and locking connectors, and a single receiver with dual-channel operation for recording both simultaneously. A dedicated timecode I/O port makes aligning audio and video easy, making your recordings ready to go for post-production straight from the microSD card.

On top of that, RODE is releasing the LPA1 Professional Low-Profile Studio Arm, a desk-clamp mount boom arm that prioritizes precision placement with smooth and silent 360-degree rotation for seamless readjustments during broadcasting—as well as its little brother DS3 Desktop Studio Arm, much the same thing but made with a weighted base for desktop placement of mics, camera, phones, and other accessories. This announcement comes alongside a new mic flag for the RODE PodMic, a customizable accessory that allows users to display their logo or artwork on their microphones with a refined broadcast look.

Finally, RODECaster Studio is a new desktop application available for Mac and Windows, designed for podcast and audio editors and specifically catered to spoken-word content. The RODECaster Studio App will come with features like studio-grade transcription accuracy, speaker identification, and a suite of AI-driven edition tools to speed up the post-production workflow. Creators can explore and experiment with generating transcripts with timestamp alignment, correcting and even replacing entire words and phrases while preserving tone and cadence, and using the RODE assistant, which can help with high-level editing tasks through natural-language commands.
