RME Announces New Audio Products

0Share

RME is showing off its latest releases at NAMM 2020 that should be of interest to professional audio engineers and musicians in search of small, high-quality interfaces with various amounts of I/O and next generation network audio capabilities. All interfaces now sport RME’s FS Steadyclock technology, which ensures a sonic image that never experiences degradation, resulting in optimized recordings and mixing with a sound stage with more depth and clarity.

The updated Babyface Pro FS is RMEs most flexible and durable portable interface with hardware improvements, including a +19/+4 dBu switch, a headphone circuit borrowed from the ADI2 Pro, better preamps, and a new ADC with 6 samples less latency. The unit includes a K-Slot for theft protection and ships with a USB-C cable. Also included with the Babyface is a free S-Gear Guitar Sim Plug-in and a free 90-day subscription to Gig Performer.

The ADI-2 DAC FS is an ultra-fidelity PCM/DSD 768 kHz DA converter with an improved signal-to-noise ratio over the original version (from 117 dB to 120 dB) as well as a decrease in distortion by -10 dB, resulting in -120 dB at full digital level. Analog XLR, RCA and IEM outputs have an increased headroom of 2.5 dB. An included remote control offers extended features wirelessly, such as parametric EQ, loudness switching, and bass/treble on/off. Another familiar face with a facelift is the black edition of the ADI-2 Pro FSR BE ultra-fidelity PCM/DSD 768 kHz ADDA converter that also comes with a remote control.

The ADI-2 FS is a high-end 2-channel ADDA converter with two analog inputs and two analog outputs, an ADAT or SPDIF input/output (optical and coaxial, AES/EBU compatible), a high-powered stereo headphone output. The ADI-2 FS is compatible with the optional RM19-X rackmount kit and the Unirack 19" rackmount.

The 12MIC is RME’s first preamp for audio networks, featuring twelve microphone and line level inputs with digital, no-compromise, studio-quality conversion; remote controllable gains; integrated MADI and AVB connectivity; plus, a multitude of additional functionality, designed to make it the perfect companion for any professional recording setup. The mic pre’s are PAD-free with 75 dB of gain and can accept signals up to 18+ dBu.  With its highly flexible routing and two fully redundant AVB ports, this interface will surely find a home with broadcast facilities or professional recordists.

The AVB Tool combines MADI with deterministic AVB networked audio. With up to 128 channels of AVB and MADI and four pristine analog inputs, the AVB Tool is capable of routing 260 x 260 via the onboard routing matrix. The unit boots up in less than 10 seconds and reveals all configuration and status info both on the integrated 1.54" full-color display, or through a web-based remote control. Buttons provide quick access to parameters and editing.

The M-1610 Pro combines 16 analog inputs with 8 analog outputs, redundant AVB, up to two independent MADI ports, headphones, ADAT outputs, and dual internal power supplies to deliver M-32 performance at an attractive price point. The single rack unit come with TRS plugs and DB25 ports for quick integration of analog signals and a web interface allowing convenient remote control over any network.

As you can see, there are a multitude of options and upgrades for any music producer, recordist, broadcast engineer, or network specialist. Check out more options on the B&H website or stop by the SuperStore for some hands-on action!
