Sennheiser XSW 2: Wireless Rigs for Vocals and Instruments Alike

0Share

Looking for a wireless rig in the A-frequency band from a reliable manufacturer? Want options when it comes to the type of microphone offered? And most of all, do you seek a budget-conscious solution to the needs at hand? Well look no further, because these Sennheiser systems will fill the bill.

For a receiver/transmitter package with a handheld microphone, check out this Sennheiser unit, which utilizes an e865 dynamic mic with a supercardioid polar pattern, a frequency response of 80 Hz to 16 kHz, and rugged, ABS housing. If you prefer the e835 capsule over the e825, this microphone system will work for you.

Is it a lavalier mic you’re after? With the 2-ME2-A Wireless 2-Lavalier option, you can pin the mic to your lapels, hook it into the body-back transmitter, and beam sound to the included receiver. For vocalists and presenters who favor headset mics over lapel microphones, this Sennheiser headset package has your back while it sits on your head, swapping out the ME2-2 Lavalier for an ME3-2 Headset mic. Or, perhaps you’d wish to wander wire-free around the stage with your electric guitar. If that’s the case, this wireless 2-instrument setup will do the trick, giving you a 1/4" instrument cable, which routes straight to the included body-pack transmitter.

Along with the transmitter, microphone (and, in the case of the XSW 2-CL1-A, the instrument cable), each of these rigs come with an EM-XSW 2 Receiver, which offers true-diversity, double-superheterodyne operation, as well as wideband FM modulation, automatic frequency management, 12 factory-preset channels, a 40-dB adjustment range, and a power supply. Batteries are included for the transmitters.
