Shure Announces the SLX-D Digital Wireless Microphone System

0Share

Shure has taken its popular SLX wireless system into the realm of digital audio with the install-friendly SLX-D digital wireless microphone system, designed to meet the demands of small-to-medium event spaces, corporate facilities, educational institutions, houses of worship, and music venues.

First things first: the SLX-D delivers crystal-clear 24-bit digital audio with an impressive 120 dB of dynamic range. It operates in a wide 44 MHz bandwidth ranging from 470 to 616 MHz and allows for up to 32 channels of wireless mics per band. Because it doesn't transmit in the 2.4 GHz band, the SLX-D is more reliable over longer distances than many other digital systems, with a generous operating range of up to 330 feet.

You can take the stage with confidence, because the system utilizes advanced predictive diversity technology to maintain stable, high-efficiency RF signals for reliable performance and minimal dropouts. There are also rechargeable battery-management options to simplify the task of keeping multiple transmitters charged and at the ready.

The SLX-D comes in a suite of versatile microphone and rackmount system configurations to suit your particular application—all offering easy setup and use right out of the box.

The SLXD4 receiver features:
• RF scan and IR sync for setup at the push of a button
• Auto frequency deployment for multiple systems
• Removable antennas
• Compatibility with Shure wireless UHF accessories
• Industry-leading Shure all-metal roadworthy construction
• You can also opt for the SLXD4D, the dual-channel version of the SLXD4

Shure boosts the SLX-D's performance by incorporating technology found on some of the company's more advanced digital systems. It includes:

• Digital Predictive Switching Diversity technology that uses a microprocessor to switch antennas before dropouts occur

• An Ethernet port for AMC/Crestron ready control strings, firmware updates, and group scan for multiple system installs

• Up-to-the-minute battery life and health with rechargeable SB903 battery, docking rechargeability, and charging accessories

SLX-D systems configured with handheld microphones are offered with a choice of four interchangeable capsules including the SM58, Beta58, and Beta87A, and KSM8. Systems configured with bodypack transmitters come with either an MX153 earset, WL 185 cardioid lav, WL 93 omni lav, SM35 performance headset, Beta 98 H/C instrument mic, or a guitar cable.

The handheld transmitters are built with rugged metal housings, while the bodypack is constructed from sturdy PC/ABS plastic; both will operate up to eight hours on two AA batteries or an SB903 rechargeable pack.
