Are you tired of that quacky, lifeless, and all-around weird DI’ed acoustic guitar tone? Acoustic guitar players know what I’m talking about: that listless, clangy timbre—which doesn’t truly communicate the vim and vigor of your axe in its intended acoustic state—is indeed a drag. Luckily, you can ameliorate the problem with the iRig Acoustic Stage, which aims to deliver a truer acoustic tone straight from the amplifier, without a microphone.
Designed by IK Multimedia to outperform ordinary piezo and magnetic pickups, the system combines a clip-on microphone with a digital preamp that provides DSP for processing the tone of your beloved instrument. You’ll also find feedback suppression technology available at the touch of a button, while an auxiliary input allows you to connect your instrument’s existing pickup, whereupon you can blend between the two signals. A USB connector, on the other hand, can send digital signal to Mac, Windows, or iOS platforms. Two AA batteries will provide up to twelve hours of continuous use.
