Zoom is expanding its feature-rich lineup of LiveTrak mixers with the new L6, an ultraportable 10-channel model aimed at musicians, performers, and creators on the go. The L6 is the smallest mixer in the series but manages to pack an impressive feature set into a compact, travel-friendly format.
Powered by 4 AA batteries or USB power, the L6 offers 2 XLR/TRS combo inputs with available 48V phantom power, along with 4 stereo line inputs on ¼” jacks. Conveniently, the first 2 stereo channels can be set to dual mono when necessary. To save real estate, the mixer offers rotary controls—as opposed to the faders found on other LiveTrak models. Each channel features a 3-band EQ with midrange frequency control. In addition, 5 internal FX with reverbs and delays are supplied to sweeten your sound along with 4 assignable sound pads that let you trigger samples. On the output side, the L6 offers a stereo headphone jack, stereo master output, and 2 AUX sends.
You can record your audio endeavors as 32-bit float multitrack files to a microSD card or use the USB connection as a 12-in / 4-out interface for your computer. The 4 tracks of audio from your computer show up at the last two stereo channels at the press of a button. The unit even sports 3.5mm MIDI jacks. Settings, including tempo, are easily stored in one of 3 Scene memories for instant recall. Finally, the L6 is Eurorack compatible, making it a great fit for use as a submixer in a modular setup.
