With 150 banks and patches, you can choose from preset configurations or store your own chains for instant recall. Also provided are a built-in chromatic tuner and an 80-second phrase looper for riffing—or noodling—on top of. Three stompbox switches are provided for instantiating effects, as are three pads for selecting patches, tapping out tempi, and more.
With the Zoom Guitar Lab software that’s included, you’ll be able to manage your chains, download new effects, and activate different amp/cab modelers. You’ll also be able to download exclusive patches from notable artists, including Richard Patrick of Filter, and Smashing Pumpkins’ Jeff Schroeder. The G3n provides an expression pedal input, but if you want an expression pedal built into the unit, you can opt for the G3Xn and save yourself the additional purchase—the choice is yours!
