Will the 5-axis stabilization reduce or eliminate the need for an external gimbal? Also, they mention "daylight viewing" with the on board monitor. How bright (NITS) is this monitor? And finally, the writeup mentions recording rates up to 120p. What is the max rate at 4k?
The 5-Axis Image Stabilization is great, but it does not totally replace what a Steadicam or Gimbal system can do. It is meant more to give you rock solid hand held shots. For 4K recording you are limited to 60fps. For 120fps it will be HD only. Panasonic does not list the exact nits of the monitor, but yes it is bright enough to be used in daylight.
Thanks!
How is the autofocus? Is it contrast detect only?
This camcorder was just announced, so we are still waiting for all the details on it. However it should have great auto focus. Currently we know that it will have Intelligent Autofocus with Subject Tracking. Also you will be able to set a Custom AF function with speeds in 7 steps, sensitivity in 10 steps and the AF selection area can be adjusted.
Thanks!
