DZOFilm Reveals its PAVO Anamorphic Primes and 2 Zoom Lenses

If you're looking to add an immersive, widescreen feel to your cine-style capture, check out the DZOFilm PAVO 2x T2.1 Anamorphic lens series. Introduced at NAB 2023, the series currently consists of two primes, 28 and 75mm, with four more—32, 40, 55, and 100mm—on the way, while teasing two longer lenses in the future. DZOFilm also revealed the Tango 18-90mm Cinema Zoom and showcased its 25-300mm Cine Zoom at NAB.

PAVO Anamorphic Primes

Each lens in the PAVO 2x T2.1 Anamorphic series is compact, lightweight, and features a 31.5mm image circle that provides coverage for up to Super35 camera sensors. Consistent focus and iris gear ring placement enables faster lens changes when using matte boxes and other accessories. These PL-mount lenses come with an interchangeable EF mount, providing compatibility with a wide array of cine-style and mirrorless cameras. The relatively fast T2.1 maximum aperture is consistent across the series, enabling continuous exposure even when switching between lenses.

Lens flare is a key characteristic of the classic anamorphic style and, with plans to release a neutral and blue flare version of each lens, the PAVO Anamorphics will provide two distinct looks. DZOFilm is targeting July 2023 as the availability date for the first six lenses.

Tango 18-90mm Cinema Zoom

DZOFilm is positioning its new Tango 18-90 Cinema Zoom for use as a cine-style and broadcast lens. Equipped with cine-style gearing, it also transmits lens metadata and is compatible with select Canon and Fujinon broadcast cameras. The Tango Zoom is scheduled for release sometime in 2023.

25-300mm Cine Zoom

Originally introduced as a prototype under the Foton line, in 2019, the PL-mount DZOFilm T2.8 25-300mm Cine Zoom offers an exceptional focal range for Super35 capture. Its appearance at NAB 2023 is designed to gauge interest in this larger zoom, so we'll have to wait and see where the re-release goes.
