With recent acquisitions of RTMotion and OFFHOLLYWOOD’s technology division, Teradek has gone all-in on providing cinema-grade accessories for RED’s DSMC2 cameras, under the Teradek RT and Teradek OMOD brands.
Teradek RT encompasses Teradek’s remote lens-control equipment. Many different kit combinations are available, though the kits that feature the Latitude MDR-SK receiver directly integrate with the RED DSMC2 ecosystem without requiring rigging; as they just pop into the side module slot. If you use lenses based on Canon’s EF mount, you won’t even need a lens motor. The Teradek RT MK3.1 controller Controller can communicate with the lens’s built-in motors through the RED camera’s EF mount. Further integration with the DSMC2 allows for start/stop control directly from the MK3.1 controller.
Teradek OMOD and OMOD | AKS accessories consist of innovative modules and rig hardware that expand the functionality of DSMC2 cameras. The OMOD XLR2, OMOD COMMAND+, and OMOD COMMAND RT+ offer alternatives to RED’s expander modules. The XLR2 gets its name from the full-sized XLR inputs. These inputs have premium low-noise preamps and, those, plus the convenient headphone output, are controllable via easily accessible knobs on the operator side. SDI and HDMI outputs are available for video out. The OMOD COMMAND+ and COMMAND RT+ both offer SDI outputs with live wireless color grading in both SDR and HDR spaces plus Ambient ACN wireless timecode jamming. The COMMAND RT+ brings it all back home with its integrated Teradek RT receiver and motor drive outputs for a fully integrated output and lens control solution.
