Take me away to a faraway land, a land where the people are happy and the copters are quad. Sometimes you need an escape, and for me, that refuge may just be Wingsland. Why? For starters, the Scarlet Minivet. This quadcopter is capable of whizzing through the sky at more than 65 feet per second (nearly 45 mph) for up to 25 minutes on a single charge. While in flight, it records 1080p video at 30 fps through its gimbal-stabilized camera and transmits a live feed to the controller from up to 1,800' away. The controller has its own 2.5 or 5" display for live, in-flight viewing, and auto-return can be activated with the touch of a button or automatically when the drone loses signal.
If your interest in drones is more about fun than photography, there’s still a place for you in Wingsland. The S6 Pocket Drone relies on your iOS or Android smartphone for control and has folding arms for compact storage. It’s got one-key takeoff and landing baked in, along with Follow Me and Points of Interest, and performs flips on command. The real fun, though, comes when you add accessories such as the Spotlight, which unleashes a 100-lumen beam on subjects, and the Emoji Display, which broadcasts emoji, characters, and symbols via an LED array. Perhaps best of all is the Cannon, which shoots soft foam balls when activated by the mobile app.
My bags are packed and I’m ready to go. Wingsland, here I come!
