Track and frame your subjects using advanced AI assistance with the new Sony BRC-AM7 4K60 PTZ camera. This flagship 20x PTZ camera features 5K oversampling, easy integration with Sony’s existing pro lineup, and a compact, lightweight form.
Based around a 1.0"-type CMOS sensor, the BRC-AM7 4K60 captures up to UHD 4K 60p imagery with reduced noise. Its 5K oversampling enables users to capture high-resolution UHD 4K video with support for nuanced HDR imagery, clearly depicting both bright and dark scenes. Compatibility with ITU709, 709tone, S-Cinetone, and S-Log3 enables simplified color matching and integration with existing Sony camera series.
Sony’s advanced auto-tracking and auto-focus technology uses built-in AI analytics for advanced recognition, automatically tracking a subject based on details such as the person’s skeleton, head, face, and clothing. A new pan-tilt mechanism enables quick, smooth, and quiet operation at speeds up to 180˚/second, providing accurate framing for applications like dance, concerts, faith services, and sporting events.
Measuring around 7 x 7" and weighing just 8.2 lb, the BRC-AM7 4K60’s reduced size and weight make it easier to set up and reposition in challenging locations. And support for PoE (Power-over-Ethernet) allows you to keep cabling to a minimum. The integrated ND filter is variable from 1/4 to 1/128, letting you quickly adjust your exposure to dynamic lighting conditions.
In addition to 12G-SDI and HDMI video outputs and 3-pin XLR audio inputs, the BRC-AM7 supports SRT, RTMP, RTSP, NDI HX3, and optical fiber for remote production over IP networks. It is compatible with VISCA over IP, S700PTP protocol, and CGI, enabling remote camera control via external commands. It is compatible with the FreeD protocol for use in virtual productions such as augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). It also supports IP tally, offering comprehensive support for remote production.
The BRC-AM7 PTZ camera is scheduled to be on display April 14–17, 2024, at Sony’s booth (C8201) at the NAB (National Associations of Broadcasters) Show in Las Vegas and is planned to be available early 2025.
