Sony Announces a Pair of PTZ Cameras with Built-In AI

Sony has announced two new 4K PTZ cameras: the 20x optical zoom SRGA40 and the 12x optical zoom SRGA12. Both cameras harness AI-powered video analytics to detect and track subjects accurately and smoothly for consistent capture with minimal oversight.

Both cameras center around 1/2.5" Exmor R CMOS image sensors capable of rendering 4K images in low light environments with minimal noise and accurate color. In addition to optical zooms, both cameras feature 2x tele-convert mode and Clear Image Zoom technology. Pan angles up to 170 degrees permit coverage of large spaces with fewer cameras and PTZ Motion Sync seamlessly blends movements.

Built-in PTZ Auto Framing powered by AI technology keeps pace with moving subjects so that camera operators do not have to make adjustments to maintain a frame. Users can select between Full-body, Waist, and Close-up modes and specify what part of the frame the subject should occupy.

Desktop and ceiling mounts add flexibility to installation for maximum coverage and a tally lamp provides visual confirmation when recording is taking place. HDMI, 3G-SDI, and IP connectivity allow you to integrate the new cameras into existing systems easily, and remote control is possible via a LAN cable. The new cameras are available in black or white.
