The Video Department at B&H Photo is happy to announce Zacuto’s latest cage, designed for the Sony a7III, a7RIII, and a9 cameras. This cage follows Zacuto’s philosophy of protecting your camera while not limiting its functionality or weighing it down unnecessarily. Form fitting, the cage protects your camera from daily bumps and dings while being virtually unobtrusive, rather than the clunky suit of armor that some cages provide.
The camera mounts in the cage use the ¼"-20 mounting screw, and it is secured in the cage by two included screws that attach to your camera’s neck-strap eyelets, which hold it fast and prevent the camera from twisting in the cage. The open design allows you to grab and hold your camera’s handgrip directly, as if the cage weren’t there, while the hand strap holds your hand snug to the camera. An included HDMI cable clamp takes the strain of the cable, and helps protect your camera’s HDMI port from having the HDMI cable accidentally pulled from the port.
Numerous 1/4"-20 threaded accessory mounting holes provide places for mounting accessories without straining your camera’s body. Built-in Z-Rails allow for more accessories to be attached, including a top handle and a wood side handle for two-handed support. The side handle mounts on the left side of your camera, and includes a cold shoe for mounting accessories.
Whether you are looking for a way to protect your camera, mount accessories, or just improve your comfort and control when hand-holding your camera, the Zacuto No Cage for the a7III, a7RIII, or a9 is well worth considering.
