Used Item Return Policy

Extended Holiday Returns & Exchanges

As a courtesy during the busy holiday season, we have extended our usual 30-day limit on returns and exchanges. You have until February 1, 2026 to return or exchange items purchased after November 1, 2025 through January 1, 2026. All other standard return policy conditions apply; see below for details.

B&H carries an extensive inventory of pre-owned photo, video and audio equipment. You may purchase used items online, by phone or in person at our NYC SuperStore.
Every used item we stock carries a 90-day Parts and Labor warranty.

Return Policy

If you are dissatisfied with a Used equipment purchase for any reason, you may return your merchandise to B&H within 30 days of the purchase date (after receiving an RMA), subject to the conditions and exclusions below:

  • All returned merchandise must be in the same condition as sold, with all included accessories. If condition differs, we reserve the right to refuse the return or to charge a restocking fee of 15%.
  • We are not responsible for personal data or items left in returned merchandise.
  • We are not responsible for any consequential or incidental damage resulting from the sale or use of any merchandise bought from us. We are responsible for the monetary value of the merchandise only.
  • Claims for damaged or missing items must be received within two business days of receipt of merchandise.
  • B&H can only refund your original purchase price—shipping fees are nonrefundable.

Refunds & Credits

You have the option of exchanging an item or receiving a refund for the full amount of the original purchase price within the allowed return period. B&H can only refund the original purchase price. Shipping fees are nonrefundable. In most cases, we will issue your refund to the same payment method used for the original purchase. If payment was made by credit card, we will credit your account once we receive the product. Please allow 7-10 days for a credit to appear on your credit card statement. If payment was made by check, the refund check will be issued no sooner than 10 business days after the date of purchase.

Pay & Pack

Place the original package into a shipping carton. Include the invoice and the reason for return. If defective, please specify the defect. You may either affix the preprinted label provided with your Return Merchandise Authorization (return shipping cost will be deducted from your refund) or you may purchase a shipping label from the carrier of your choice. We recommend you ship using insured ground service with a tracking number. Return shipping fees are the responsibility of the customer.

Label & Ship

Secure your return label to the package or clearly write the RMA number on the outer box. Be sure to keep a record of your tracking number as a reference. B&H is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged packages.

Used Item Terms of Warranty

Used Item Terms of Warranty

Every used item B&H sells carries a limited 90-day parts and labor warranty.

The warranty covers all operational/functional defects encountered in normal use of the product and does not cover defects due to the product being misused or mishandled including drops, spills, sand or if the item has been tampered with other than by B&H Photo.

If the product has been returned to B&H and proven by one of our technicians to be defective, then depending on the product and failure circumstances, at our discretion, we will either repair the product, exchange for the same model and cosmetic condition (or better) or provide a refund for the same value paid at the time of purchase.

To file a claim, follow the same instructions as returning an item.
Free shipping to and from will be provided only for the address to which the product was originally shipped.

Additional warranty info for international customers:

International/non-USA customers are responsible for any taxes, duties and shipping fees that may occur when shipping the item to us.

When shipping the item back to you, we will indicate that the shipment is a repair or replacement (whichever is applicable), which should not require you to pay any taxes or duties. However, we do not take any responsibility for any tax or duty charges if incurred.

In the case that a refund is issued, we will issue you the same value paid in USA currency at the time of purchase.

Please note: A quote must be initiated in order to send in your equipment to sell/trade.

The price we quote is valid for up to 14 days. We issue payment as a B&H Trade-In Credit, B&H eGift Card or a Check. By law, an official government photo ID must be provided, such as a copy of your driver's license, passport, or another form of legal identification. We do not accept consignments.

Your equipment will be inspected in the order that it was received, it typically takes up to 3 business days. If your equipment is fully operational and it matches the condition we expected it to be in then we will issue you payment. However, if your equipment is not as expected then one of our buyers will reach out to you to further discuss the revised quote and explain the reason for doing so. If we do not reach an agreement, we will return your equipment at our expense, fully insured.

*Available within the contiguous (lower-48) United States only.

**Audio & video equipment that gets dropped off at our SuperStore has a 48-72 hour inspection period.
