The native version of McDSP's AE400 Active EQ Software Plug-In V5 is a combination mastering limiter and multi-band dynamic parametric EQ processor designed for post production, studio production, and live sound. The equalizer actively adjusts to the incoming signal in real time and provides you with control over each band's frequency, Q, fixed gain, active gain, threshold, ratio, attack, and release parameters. This is helpful for mixing sources such as vocals that have a variable frequency response depending on the dynamic range of the input. Each band can be operated individually or connected together through active input triggering or side chaining. Active equalization can be triggered by an input signal rising above a predetermined level or alternatively by a signal falling below a predetermined level.
The EQ can be bypassed and each band can be soloed or linked with the push of a button. The plug-in features extensive metering of the input level, output level, and EQ curves so you can monitor the effects of the DSP.
