    Gossen Sixtomat F2 reviews

Sixtomat F2 Exposure Meter is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Wet Plate Collodion We've been using Luna Pro Digital F light meters for years now at my school. I was disappointed that I could find these for sale anymore. What I didn't realize is that Gossen had this meter with a new name. The Sixomat F2 is awesome as it now includes a flash meter. One of my favorite functions of the old F and this new F2 meter is the exposure correction factors. I use this for wet plate collodion. My factor for collodion is 4 stop or multiplying the exposure by 16. I set my ISO of collodion in 3 and my COR value to 16 and my exposures are right each time plus I can now meter my strobes as well. Thank you Gossen for making such a great meter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from small, light, powerful, and totally effective. This light meter is a gem. I use it indoors and outdoors with my Hasselblad (503s) and my Leica M-6 cameras. We are are ready for the instant lighting changes that plagues the Midwest. Without this great accuracy and speed I would not be able to enjoy the hand crafted elegance of classical manual photography. I am also able to instruct an assistant an assistant how to take accurate exposure settings in only a few moments. I don't even have to speak German.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product Accurate, compact and easy to operate, made in Germany, light meter with f & t priority setting. Using Seconic L758D as a reference, it meters within less than 1/3 stop accuracy. It has a feel of a good quality product with a well written, clear and comprehensive instruction manual - if needed. It runs on inexpensive readily available one AA battery. Sixtomat F2 represents a good value for money. I would recommended to a friend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Meter I wanted to run some film before I wrote a review and I must say this meter works great. I was tired of dealing with second hand out of calibration analog meters that litter the market so I got a new one. I use this mainly for my film work but on occasion I use it for incident readings when I use digital gear. In both cases it performs flawlessly and repeatably. For the price its really the only option out there that has all the features it has. One thing that really sets this apart is that it has an EV readout option. Since I shoot Hasselblad that makes metering and lens setting really fast and easy which I like. I have not had it long enough to comment on the battery life but it takes 1 AA battery and you can get those anywhere so Im not really worried about that. The meter sits well in the hand and is easy to read for reflective readings as well as incident readings. It comes with a nice little case and strap, you cant go wrong!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from excellent meter This is a great meter, it does both incident AND reflected, can be set to aperture or shutter priority, and has an excellent ISO range. One handed operation is great and it also has the ability to fire your flash via a sync cable. All this and a great price. The manual is pretty well written, but may be too technical for a beginner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value I use this exposure meter in the studio - it is one of the cheaper models but I do not need a rolls royce around the studio, it is easy to use, has good functionality and I have found it to be accurate which is all I that I need.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gossen Light Meter I have never used a light meter before, but took a lighting class, and learned about Ratios, it was obvious I needed a light meter..so I chose the Gossen due to its relatively inexpensive, and does what I need..
