Brother PT-P700 Overview

The Brother PT-P700 PC-Connectable Label Printer is a label printing unit with features enhanced by the use of a computer and the included software. The PT-P700 has a printer resolution of 180 dpi, providing a good resolution for text printing. Also, the label maker is capable of printing labels up to 1" wide and 11.8" long.

The printer features thermal printing technology so that you do not have to worry about ink levels while printing. There is even an automatic cutter for producing labels with the precise length needed for the job. This allows the PT-P700 to print at speeds of up to 1.2" per second when using AC power.

For additional features and capabilities, this printer can be plugged into a computer with a USB cable. You can then use the included P-touch Editor software to design more elaborate and exact labels. The printer is even capable of running on battery power and is compatible with both Mac and Windows-based computers. The PT-P700 includes the AC adapter and a Black on White Standard Laminated TZe Starter Tape that measures 0.94" x 13.1'.

I purchased the Brother PT-P700 to use exclusively as a label maker for my file folders and the keep track of my oil changes that I've done in my trucks. I've had a really nice experience over the last 6 years. I've labeled reminders for oil changes, and folders for so many files. I am so glad I made the purchase and would not trade it for anything! It's dependable and the software keeps tracks of what you'd like to save for future needs!

This little Label Printer is Awesome! It works great. You can save your templates for quick duplicate printing.

Would the PT-p700 be able to print asset tags on the 1 tape??

The PT-p700 will accept TZe tapes up to 24mm (.094 ), so I don't believe it will work with 1 tape.

Is this printer compatible with Apple iOS?

Yes, the printer will work with Apple OSX. It would be good to check the manufacturer's web site. If I recall correctly, there is some software loaded on the printer that supports basic label creation and printing. There is a more extensive printer application that can be downloaded for the PC. I am not sure if it is available for download for the Mac.
