    Sirui SUET2204 reviews

ET-2204 Carbon Fiber Tripod with E-20 Ball Head is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and steady I went into B&H looking for a smaller travel tripod. Something bigger than my Gorilla Pod and smaller than my aluminium 3 stage unit. I was hoping for a carbon fibre unit but not as big as this one. But it was clear after the hands on in the shop that this was what I was looking for. A solid, well built but light tripod. It packs up small given its maximum height and best of all it is capable of sitting very low to the ground thanks to a removable center pole that can be replace with a 4 inch section. The legs can flatten out. I wish it was a little bit smaller because for travel I don't need the full 5'+ height this unit is capable of.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice But... Nice, sturdy tripod, well-equipped with a nice carry case. My only issue (so far) is that it is heavier than spec'd. Specs give its weight at 3 lbs. (Sirui's site calls it 2.9 lbs!) However, the actual weight of the unit is closer to 4 lbs. (It is a touch over 3 lbs 13 oz.) The 3 lbs are for the legs only (i.e., minus the ball head.) But since this model is only sold as a kit including the ball head the weight should be given for the entire unit. That might have influenced my decision to buy it since weight was a key factor for me. Hence my withholding one star. However, I will soldier on and I'm sure will learn to love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent travel/backpacking tripod I have just recently received this product and have limited experience with it at this point. Here are my first impressions:*Very high quality materials throughout - great flip locks on the legs.*Details seem very well thought out*Included short center column is a nice bonus*Included travel bag and strap are excellent. The bag includes a pocket for tools, instructions, and the short center column. The zipper even has a cover so it won't scratch the tripod - someone is thinking out the details! The strap can either be used on the bag or on the tripod - nice!*Included tools and instructions are first rate*Included ballhead holds my D600 w. 28-300mm zoom at 300mm for long exposures just fine. This is my top priority in a ball head. *6 year warranty is very reassuring*Very pleased so far!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fully satisfied! I've been using this for 3 months so far and so far I love this thing! When purchasing this tripod I had a certain role that I wanted it to full. I wanted a light weight and very compact tripod. When completely collapsed this is very small. So I bring this thing everywhere when I bring my Lowepro ProTactic 450 AW backpack. It fits snugly in place on the side of my backpack. I have been babying this thing so far (not taking it out in rain, dust, or sandy environments), but this thing has been treating me well so far. A huge upgrade for almost anyone that isn't professional.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Right Stuff. This is the 3rd travel tripod I have purchased, and I think it's going to be my last for quite some time!. The others were just not steady enought, resulting in wobbly exposures. I purchased the Sirui just before going to a workshop in Moab, Utah, and I was impressed. Several thousand shots, some as long as five minutes, with not a single blurry image.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top End Many hours spent looking for a great travel tripod. While the price is low, quality is very high. Final two in consideraction Gitzo and Sirui. Ball head on ET-2204 far superior. This little setup carries a Canon 5D Mark lll w/100-400, 1.4 extender on a Wimberly foot and is rock stable. Height will accommodate a shooter up to 6' tall, and fold into 18 to be stored in a very nice case. Gitzo may have the background, but thier technology has been copied very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressed I was looking for a new travel tripod and had pretty much settled on the Gitzo GT1542T Series 1 Traveler. I hesitated due to the cost and the frequent reports of poor Gitzo service dept. Before pulling the trigger on the purchase I decided to check out Sirui. I had recently bought their K40 ball head for my Manfrotto 055CXPRO3 tripod and I am very impressed with Sirui's quality. So I came across this Sirui tripod with ball head included which was just shy of half the cost of the Gitzo with a good ball head, and decided to give it a try. With very little write up on this particular model I figured I would send it back if not happy. It arrived on time and I carefully unpacked it with the intention to send it back at the slightest sign of it not performing to my expectations. I immediately did some non professional testing in my tile kitchen floor side by side with the much larger Manfrotto. Both tripods performed almost equally with the D7100 with 70-200 lens. As expected a slight edge to the Manfrotto, but not by a significant amount. The D800 with 70-200 lens was significantly better on the Manfrotto though. Again it was expected considering the size difference and heavier camera.Because this Sirui performed as I expected and I suspect similar to what I would expect from the twice as expensive Gitzo, I have decided to keep it.I've now used it in the field for two days and I can say that I am happy with the Sirui ET-2204. It is only slightly larger and heavier than the Gitzo so I fully expect it will not be left behind during hikes. An added bonus it fits perfectly in the bottom of my Harley saddlebag. This tripod seems well made. How durable remains to be seen.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent tripod For a travel carbon fibre tripod, one can not go wrong with the Sirui especially at this price. I bought this tripod as I work in extremely cold temperatures and the rating for this tripod goes to -40 C. Best part of this piece of gear is how the legs flip 180 degrees for ultimate compactness. Very light tripod and it comes with a very sleek carry bag. Sirui has definitely put a lot of time and effort into the design of this tripod. The tripod also comes with a 4 inch extension column and all the allen keys needed to take the tripod apart if needed.
