question

Is this mic compatible with a Nikon D3100?
Asked by: Ismael R.
Unfortunately the Nikon D3100 does not feature a mic input jack and is unable to support external mics.

question

will this work on the iphone 6?
Asked by: Anonymous
I just bought this microphone and it records fine to my iPhone 6 without the above adaptor (in fact, I bought the adaptor on the advice of this Q&A and it didn't record at all through the adaptor, and kept trying to activate voice control). Both left and right mics record into a single channel on the phone, but they record fine.

For staff - Can I use the dual lav with my Panasonic Lumix G7 directly? Can I use the dual lav with this adaptor ( http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/985832-REG/kopul_a_xmmf_adapter_xlr_male.html ) to my Tascam DR-40? (there an issue going into one XLR on this recorded? Thanks so much!

The OLM-20 is directly compatible with the Lumix G7 and will record both mics discreetly to left and right sides. It can be used with the Kopul adapter as well, however will combine both sides to single mono signal when connected to the recorder.

question

I like the idea of having two mics for interviews, but will only need one mic most of the time. Can I deactivate one mic so I have clean sound?
Asked by: Casey H.
Not sure, but I don't see how. We fed the cord through a plastic straw, taped it up with pretty tape and used it as a stick microphone. It looks like from the 70's but worked. We used it as mics for judging competitions.

They are designed to be used simultaneously - for example, it is a handy solution for recording two people in an interview setting.

I've had one for 2 yrs but not yet figured out how to reduce loud background talk noise at large exhibition halls, where I use it for interviews. Any ideas or alternative mics?
Asked by: Chih
Have you tried to make sure the lav is as close as possible to the interviewee mouth.
