The 47" Zeppelin Para Softbox from Westcott is a 1,000 W-rated parabolic softbox designed for strobe lighting. This shape allows you to create even lighting with a wrap-around quality. This is ideal for commercial, fashion, and portrait photography. The Zeppelin also features a long, zippered entry point for more customization when it comes to your setup.

For control over your lighting, the Zeppelin comes with both inner and outer diffusion panels. These let you easily determine the quality of your lighting. Additionally, the inner panel features a center spot that eliminates hot spots from the light. The softbox even includes a removable rear ventilation cover.

The Zeppelin uses 16 heat-resistant aluminum rods for ensuring that the softbox maintains the appropriate shape. It also includes a travel case for portability.

Inner panel provides 1-stop of diffusion with a 2-stop center

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's actually a bargain I own several types of modifiers, and mainly use my beauty dish, strips, and 5 ft. octa. At first I was a bit reluctant to spend this much, but I did, and now realize it should have been the very first thing I ever purchased. The light is as everyone describes - stunning. Never before has one of my shots looked as though I'd dodged and burned it before I actually did. This all changed with the Zeppelin. Somehow the shots show tremendous contrast, yet the skin remains very pleasing. I used it yesterday in place of my BD, and was completely surprised (pleasantly). I've found a new favorite, and the Zeppelin is it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great light source It's not as hard to put together as some say, although it is difficult to mount to a boom, you need a hefty geared boom, otherwise it will just slip and not hold position, quality of light is great, and you can get many different lighting looks with just one light by removing the diffusion. If your on a budget just get a parabolic umbrella like the westcot or profoto you will save yourself a ton of money and get the look your probably going for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! Fantastic, beautiful light producing piece of equipment. Every studio should definitely have one of these waiting in the wing. If you understand lighting then you'll smile for days once you shoot using this para softbox.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Modifier! Not a speedy setup but the quality of the light output is worth it! I plan on using the Zeppelin a lot for my work...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great parabolic at good price. I have only had this parabolic for a brief time. It was fairly easy to set up. The light it puts out does seem a bit better at showing facial structure compared to a regular soft box. Also it does allow for harder or softer light depending on the included internal light softeners.
