Key Features
  • PENTAX HD Multi-Layer Lens Coating
  • Weather-Resistant and Dustproof Design
  • Increases Focal Length by 1.4x
  • Reduces Lens Aperture by 1 f/Stop
The 1.4x HD PENTAX-DA AF Rear Converter AW from Ricoh is compatible with Pentax KAF2 mount lenses on select DSLR cameras. It mounts between the camera body and lens, and increases the focal length of the lens by 1.4x, while reducing the aperture by 1 f/stop. The minimum focus distance of the lens is preserved, as are auto focus and auto aperture functionality. The rear converter works flawlessly with both the camera-driven AF system and the lens-driven AF system, including that of the SDM and DC-series lenses. The camera's firmware must be updated to the latest version before using the autofocus function.

Does anyone have experience using the Pentax 1.4 ...

Does anyone have experience using the Pentax 1.4 teleconverter with the Pentax 150-450 zoom on a K3III?
Asked by: James
Yes, would make a great lens and tele-converter combo considering your Pentax k3 iii already offers a 1.5 magnification factor anything more then 1.4x would cause artifacts.

I bought a Pentax SMCP-DA 300mm f/4 lens to use ...

I bought a Pentax SMCP-DA 300mm f/4 lens to use on my K-1. I am thinking of getting the K-1 Mark ll. Will the Pentax 1.4x HD Pentax-DA AF Rear Converter AW for K-Mount work with this camera and lens?
Asked by: Cathy
I currently use the combo of 300mm f/4 + converter on my K-1. There is no reason why the same won't work on a K-1ii as well When in full-frame mode, you may see a hint of vignetting on either body, though. It's manageable with minimal cropping.

Has anyone tried this teleconverter with the K3ii and the Pentax 150-450mm zoom lens?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, users say the teleconvertor will magnify any positive or negative issues with the lens. One reviewer says "I was still very impressed, based on my experience with my K1 plus DFA 150-450 mm". Knowing that this teleconvertor is made for crop sensor cameras, using the K3ii, the results will be even better.
