Auray OMPF-33 Overview

Designed to eliminate vocal plosives and prevent moisture from reaching your large-diaphragm condenser microphone without the need for connecting a gooseneck to your mic stand, the OMPF-33 On-Microphone Pop Screen from Auray features an elegant, easy to clean multi-layer mesh surface and will fit side-address condenser microphones with a diameter between 1.8 and 2.5" (45 to 65 mm).

The included heavy-duty elastic bands make attaching the OMPF-33 to your mic a snap. Since it attaches directly to the mic itself, it stays in the perfect spot even when you have to adjust the mic's height or position and is a great space saver, making it ideal for use with desktop mic stands, where space is often at a premium. Thanks to its space age, lightweight ABS construction, it will not weigh down your mic.

Plastic Broke, and Plosives Still There (UPDATE)

Update: Auray customer support graciously went out of their way to replace the broken pop filter without me asking, so I’d like to praise them for their care. I’m still leaving my original review below for others to make an educated decision before buying. Disclaimer: I dropped the mic the pop screen was attached to once, and the plastic part that held one of the elastic bands broke, so the pop screen no longer fits on tight. Its my fault, but the product still works. Regardless, the performance of the pop screen isn't the greatest, as plosives still show up in the audio, but less pronounced. I'd still recommend people record at least 6 inches or further if you care about having no plosives at all.

I have real problems with poppiing 'p's, and this filter gets rid of almost all, but not quite all, of the problem. To make things work, I record everything two or three times to I can pick and choose, and come up with good audio. I'm recording my own voice - for voice-over without any, or without much, background sound - no music, etc..

You would have to measure the Samson G - Track and see if it fits. This pop screen is for microphone sizes - 1.8 to 2.5" / 45 to 65 mm.

Having now tried this with the Blue Yeti I can confirm it does not fit very well. The elastic band snapped when I was trying to put it on the microphone.

Due to it's width, we wouldn't recommend this for the CAD E100s. A standard gooseneck pop filter would work better. Here's a suggestion B&H # AUPFNY6.
