The cable is a standard Male Type C Mini HDMI to Male Type A HDMI. As for price there are other brands that are around the same price and others that are less.

It is just a regular male type C mini connection. Many use something like the Tether Tools JerkStopper Camera Support depending on the camera used.

No, you cannot connect your camera and laptop in that manner. Your computer's HDMI socket is an output, and not able to receive data from your camera.
Note also that many current cameras with a USB 3.0 connection are not designed to supply the constant current needed to maintain a connection between the camera and computer. You may find that the connection is dropped or you may not be able to get a connection at all. There is a solution from Tethertools that you might investigate.
When you do shoot in the tethered mode, it may be useful to send a JPG file to your computer and save a copy of the image in a RAW format. The image for your review will load much faster.
