Manfrotto MT055XPRO3 Tripod with Pan/Tilt Hea... Overview

The Manfrotto MK055XPRO3-3W Aluminum Tripod with 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head is a 3-section support with a 3-way pan/tilt head. It has a load capacity of 33.1 lb and extends from 3.5 to 72.1". Its legs are secured by the Quick Power Locks. These updated flip locks increase the tripod's rigidity by 50%.

A redesigned center column has a "one finger" operation, and includes an Easy Link attachment for attaching accessories such as an LED light or a reflector. The center column can be positioned horizontally, allowing for low-angle and macro photography. The upper disc where a tripod head is mounted has been redesigned as well, and now has a bull's eye bubble level that rotates 360° so you can locate it where you can see it. This allows you to level your camera on both the horizontal and vertical planes.

The MHXPRO-3W 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head is a compact pan/tilt head with retractable levers that can be extended as needed. Two knobs control the friction for the front-to-back and side-to-side tilt, allowing you to fine tune the movements based on the weight of your gear. Three leveling bubbles ensure your composition is level on all axes.

I LOVE This Tripod!

I have a ton of tripods, but never sprung for a big-boy one, until now. What a difference it makes, having a solid, steady, rugged tripod - especially when shooting real estate photos to do comps that have to line up. One oddity is that, the way the leg clamps look is not how they work. It's like they were made for left-handed people. Taking some getting used to. The 90 degree boom arm on it, though, is killer. I had a shoot where I was trying to line up a chandelier with a window behind it. Without shooting handheld, it was impossible to get the shot without using the boom. It was awesome. I got it right where I needed it and it supported my EOS 5D Mk IV that also was mounted in a metal cage, had a flash on it, a light on it, and Pocket Wizard remote - so, not a light load. Adjustment knows work really well, too. You can change the tension on them to suit your needs. Love this thing.

Love the way the legs extend so effortlessly. Great height for tall people. No more hunching, unless warranted. Solid. I do wish it would allow for my L bracket mount. But, all in all, a great piece of equipment to have!

The MK055XPRO3-3W is so well built and easy to use, I'm very glad i went with this tripod for my film photography! Everything on this has been very solid and intuitive to use for lining up shots. The flexibility to place the legs in almost any configuration you want and to boom out for the head makes it awesome for macro photography and unique photos.

I need a replacement foot on my MTO55XPro3 is there a part number that I can order? Thanks.
Asked by: Robert
A replacement foot is available for the Manfrotto MT055XPRO3. The one that is available is the Manfrotto Stainless Steel Rubber foot with a retractable Spike Foot, it is the normal replacement foot for that tripod. https: //bhpho.to/2wh6LUC

What is the difference between this unit and the other Manfrotto MT055XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod with MHXPRO-3W 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head Kit, besides the price? https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1060591-REG/manfrotto_mt055xpro3_aluminum_tripod_stand_alone.html
Asked by: Tim
The difference in the kit is how they are packed. With B&H # MAK055XPRO33, this comes in a single box. With B&H # MAMT055XP3K6, there is a separate box for the legs and one for the head. Otherwise, they have the same specifications.

Has anyone used "Manfrotto MT055XPRO3-3W Aluminum Tripod with 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head" for stitched panoramic 360?images? If so, does it enable proper stitching?
Asked by: Cathy
You could certainly use this tripod/head for pano's but there are much better heads out there specifically for shooting 360. You can purchase legs separate, then buy the head. Click on the link below to view pano heads; https://bhpho.to/37YDkZM

How steady is the 90 degree column with a DSLR on it? I do stop-motion and long exposures and stability is super important for me.

The tripod head will lock in place, given you are within the weight capacity of the head.
