The FreeWave Captain Wireless TTL Flash Trigger and Remote TTL Shutter Release System for Canon E-TTL SLRs from Vello is a multi-purpose 2.4 GHz, 4-channel digital E-TTL radio system that gives wireless freedom from a PC cord plus the convenience of accurate exposures through wireless communication with your camera's E-TTL flash technology. Imagine the near impossibility of running 300' lengths of PC cord to shoot outdoors, then imagine the wireless freedom of remote triggered, camera control with auto exposure in a radius up to 300'. Using 2 shoe mount E-TTL flashes and an assistant you'd have enough mobility to light groups, demos, shows, portraits and events on location, on-the-fly.

question
I owned this product for two years and Im planning on switching to Sony cameras. Is there a way to use some or all of the with Sony?
If you are purchasing a new Sony camera that uses the Multi-Interface hot shoe, the Vello FreeWave Captain Wireless TTL Triggering System for Canon E-TTL SLRs will fit into the camera's hot shoe. However, as the wireless triggers are designed for Canon E-TTL II automatic flash exposure, and not for Sony's TTL system, do note you will have to set the flash output manually; there will be no TLL automatic exposure when using this on a Sony camera.

question
Will this trigger work with a LumoPro LP180 flash?
Technically it should work. But the wireless sync is for TTL and that flash is manual.Best is to attach the flash to the receiver through the sync port and not the shoe. The Non-TTL version would be a better option, Vello FreeWave LR Wireless Flash Trigger and Receiver Kit B&H # VERFWLR MFR # RFW-LR.

Would this work with a Canon 6D and a QFlash T5d-R to allow manual remote control of the flash power settings?
Although this can connect a 6D to a T5DR flash, all the control would need to be done on the flash directly.
