I stumbled into real estate photography and this lens is an essential! It offers wide angle, minimal distortion and the 2.8 speed to create fantastic images!!! it's my Go To lens in tight spaces that need to look nice!! Must have addition to the collection.

I use this lens on my Sony Alpha 6400 and it really proves its a solid lens for the money.

Too soft or not sharp lens

This lens is not as sharp as I expected. Every thin is too soft at any aperture. To get something usable picture you have to process it with a computer program.

It does the job

Sony 6300 for real estate. Both my Sony 10x18 and Samyang 12mm leave huge halos or glowing windows. This lens is big, a 10mm built like a 135? But once you adjust and accept the size, the images are just spot on and almost no glow at the window edges.

Solid lens, but less durable than I was expecting

I like Rokinon lenses and I needed a wide-angle, so I ordered this one. I was at first a little dismayed when I saw marks on the glass when I opened it, but it seemed to be okay. I used it for one shoot and liked how it looked on camera. It feels heavy in your hand and overall a solid lens. However, after an 8 hour shoot, I noticed it was a little dirty, and I used proper lens cleaning liquid and cloth to wipe it off, and noticed a small smudge on the lens. I was the only one who handled it and I am usually really careful with my lenses, but this sat in a chair for a couple hours. I have no idea how that smudge got there. I am unsure if it was like that when I received it, otherwise I'd absolutely return. It doesn't seem to impact the shots since it's a wide angle, and focuses in the distance, but I am overall feeling very upset that my brand new lens has a spot. I am just going to be extra careful with this lens. It's apparently easy to scratch.

Extremely Sharp

All in all, I like the lens. The image is sharp even in the corners, and the F/2.8 is a plus. There is some barrel distortion, but at 10mm and this much glass, it is to be expected. I would be surprised if there wasn't any. You can play around with the various wide angle lens profiles in the 'Lens Correction' profiles in Photoshop until you get something close. Remember too, that this is a manual focus lens. At 10mm, it really isn't a big problem as the depth of field is very wide anyway. Another thing, before you pop the lens on the camera, READ the instructions for use. For instance, on my Pentax, I have to use the 'A' aperture setting with the lens or it doesn't work properly. Other cameras use different settings. I've included a picture I took for a client of a very narrow restaurant kitchen. It has been photo-shopped to remove some barrel distortion in the lens as you would any wide angle lens of this magnitude.

beefy lens

As a beginner to photography, I purchased this lens for the olympus omd em10-mark ii mirrorless camera. It fits just fine and It's a nice lens, however, a little beefy for the camera. Just under 1 1/2 lbs, trying to concentrate on cradling the lens and work the focus ring, it gets a little awkward when using it for candid shots like a concert or prom.

Any one noticed that is only 2/3 brighter than the canon 10-18 f4.5, instead of 1-1/3rd stop?
Asked by: Carlos
We are not aware of any side by side comparison testing with this and the Canon 10-18mm F/4.5-5.6 lens. However, aperture ratings on photography cameras like this are not uniform across the board.

is there really no way to add ND filter systems to this lens? No compatible products? I love this lens for astrophotography and sunsets but need to add light pollution or reverse gnd filters to enhance those subjects.
Asked by: Emma
One could try to connect the NiSi 150mm Filter Holder for Voigtlander Hyper-Wide Heliar 10mm Lens: https://bhpho.to/2yUDy6z . The Focal Length of both lenses is the same, and the adapter mounts behind the lens shade of the lens, and is made not to vignette mounted on a 10mm lens. But the two shades look different, The Rokinon lens shade is longer, so attaching may not work. If one could shorten the depth of the lens shade it may fit, otherwise it may not be possible to mount filters on the Rokinon 10mm f/2.8 ED AS NCS CS Lens for Pentax K Mount

Does it fit for Canon 6D mark ii ?
Asked by: Priscila
We're afraid not. This is for cameras with an APS-C Sized Sensors, the 6D Mark II is full frame. This lens will not cover the sensor on the 6D Mark II.

question

Besides being faster, will this lens produce an image as clear and crisp as the Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM Lens at 10mm or will it be better? Or is it so new that they haven't been compared side by side yet?
Asked by: Anonymous
The Rokinon lens is very new and we have not seen at this time any real world comparisons. The Canon lens in general is not going to be as good in low light. The Rokinon is f/2.8 and the Canon 10-22 is f/3.5-4.5. And another very big difference is the Rokinon is a manual lens so it does not autofocus compared to the Canon lens which does have autofocus.
