The Zenmuse H3-3D 3-Axis Gimbal for GoPro HERO3/3+ from DJI is a camera stabilization device that is exclusively for the DJI Phantom 2 Quadcopter. It is driven by a 3-axis brushless gimbal that not only supports tilting and canting, like the previous H3-2D model, but also panning as well. Not only will it keep your aerial video's horizon level and isolated from vibration, the gimbal can also be used to remotely operate there camera, allowing you to adjust the camera angle with ±0.08° accuracy in flight.

Hi, I'm looking for my first copter, so I'm a complete novice. If I got this, a GoPro Hero 4 Black, and a DJI Phantom 2, besides a FPV setup, would I need anything else? i.e. Does the stock remote support camera vertical rotation, etc.
Nathing eals., but.. i recomend you the dji phantom vision(plus) if you are saing ur novice. Believe me, you dont want to crash a dron and a gopro at the same time.

I just bought 2nd hand Phantom 2 with Zenmuse H3-3D on it. Question 1: Do I have to get a Hero 3 or can I use a similar sized and weight camera?Question 2: Whats the cheapest way to get this working as FPV?

The H33D Gimbal is only to be use with DJI Phantom 2 series.

how does the stabilizer handels shake on the y-axis??
The y-axis is controlled by the lever on the remote control, however it will also compensate for any movement during flight.

Does this version include a GCU for the original Phantom?
No GCU included with this gimbal. You need to buy a separate GPU for your original Phantom. Phantom 2 quadcopters have a GCU built in.

Yes, it can be done and I have done it myself. It works well for bird's shots using the quadcopter.

Is there any way to mount this to a pole and use it without a Quadcopter? Thinking of buying the copter later but would like to use a gimbal now. I could certainly make my own bracket but wondering about the controls, power etc...Thx!
