    Avenger A5033 reviews

A5033 Roller 33 Folding Base Stand with Braked Wheels (Chrome/Black, 10.8') is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but not as strong as a c-stand Great stand in concept and form, but the last column split on us when we used a boom arm attached to it with a Profoto B1 head and medium soft box on it. The specs are similar to a c-stand and used it as such, but it wasn't nearly as strong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from General Purpose Studio Stand This is a great studio stand. Study, smooth rolling, reliable brakes, folds smaller than most stands, and a good height for most uses. Bear in mind, this is not a big, heavy stand. If you wouldn't trust a c-stand, don't trust this stand- get something bigger and heavier. I use this for lights with softboxes up to 3x4 feet with a single manfrotto boom weight clamped to a leg. It would probably work for larger lights with extra weights/sandbags, but a larger stand would work better. I also use this with an Avenger D600 boom occasionally, but that's really pushing it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing stand I ordered four of these stands for my small studio. Right out the box the quality is apparent. The legs come folded up against the body of the stand and are easily lowered. They click into place and voila... a sturdy, smooth-rolling, quiet, easily maneuvered stand that looks up to holding your heaviest equipment. I have an Einstein strobe with a 7' Photoflex octadome on one, and though I did add two sandbags for safety sake, the stand handles the load with ease. Can't find anything to not love about them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect stand for the studio. I was a bit wary of this stand, I use C Stands that can take anything, but this stand is great. I have a Bogen boom with a large softbox mounted to it and I can easily wheel it around to any location I need it in.I wanted a little more weight on the base so I used a hanger and Super Clamp to hang a sandbag off of.I haven't used the adjustable leg and don't really see taking this stand out of the studio.@

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Solid & Sturdy Stand. Rolls Smooth This stand's construction is very solid & sturdy (read: heavy). It makes a great studio stand. It rolls around very easily, quietly, and smoothly. I mounted one of my strobe units with a 22 inch metal reflector (assembled weight of strobe & reflector is about 10lbs.) and the stand handles it with no problem. The clamps hold very well under load and have a good feel. The clamps lock and unlock with ease. I would only recommend sandbags & chocks as my only complaint is that the caster brakes can be a little difficult to engage / disengage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Out-standing Stand It's a stand. It has wheels. Mission accomplished. :) It's heavy (in a good way), but I'm not comfortable rigging a long boom mic or a light fixture rigged onto a boom or grip arm without adding a heavy sandbag. The folding mechanism on the legs is well executed and heavy duty. Folds up fast and low-profile, but still very strong when extended. Cons: I still like the feel of Matthews knobs better than these. That's a subjective thing, I know. When I first took this out of the box and tightened the 2nd knob from the top, it 'snapped'. Not sure what actually happened, but as it was tightening, it made a popping sound, and felt like the tightening screw hopped a thread or something. I've worked with it extensively since then and it's never happened again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow, what a nice stand! I wish all my studio stands were like this. Built like a TANK, buttery smooth operation, confidence inspiring design. It now makes all of my other stands and booms look flimsy and cheap... :( I will be getting at least one more of these, would love to have three total. Oh, and it is relatively portable!!!!! I am a full time pro with a studio.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must Have Stand I use this mainly for my key light with an Avenger D600 boom and a 53 Elinchrom Rotalux. It is plenty strong enough and the wheels make moving everything around so much easier. Plus it folds up much shorter than my other C-stands.
