Rycote Classic Softie Kit Overview

The Classic Softie Camera Kit (4.7" Long, 0.7 to 0.9" Diameter) from Rycote is an all-in-one suspension and windshield kit for outside filming and audio recording using a shotgun microphone. It is designed for shotgun mics with slots no further than 4.7" (12cm) from the front of the mic, and a 0.75 to 0.9" (19 to 25mm) diameter.

This kit contains a microphone shockmount with attachments suitable for mounting on video cameras, booms, and stands. It also includes the Rycote Classic-Softie, which offers protection against wind noise.

This Classic-Softie Camera Kit includes the InVision Video Shockmount which features a Lyre suspension that protects against vibrations, handling, and camera motor noise. For versatility in how you attach your shotgun mic to your camera or boompole, the shockmount is fitted with a hot shoe fixture and comes with a male-to-female thread adapter, 3/8"-16 boom swivel, and a camera clamp adapter.

I bought this to mount an MKH 416 on camera for times when having a boom guy or gal isn't possible. Works well and has alot of useful slides and hardware and the shock mount is nice. The downside It's a little bit 'Bendy' and 'plasticky' on the slides which makes it a bit of a pain if you're moving around alot. Overall A lot of useful bits and pieces to have in any kit.

I am looking for a wind shield for the new Deity ...

I am looking for a wind shield for the new Deity V-Mic D4, which includes foam & fuzz screen, but is inadequate, will this work?

The Deity Microphones V-Mic D4 Hybrid Analog/USB Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone has a diameter of 0.8" (21mm) and it is 6.4" (161.5mm) long. The Rycote 033014 Standard Hole Classic Softie Wind-Screen is the correct diameter, but the inside depth may not be deep enough at 2.7". You may be better off with the Rycote Standard Hole Classic Softie Wind-Screen (BH #RYS10M) which has an inside depth of 3.9".

The hole is the correct size, but the length is a bit too short for the Schoeps MiniCMIT. The Standard Hole Classic Softie that Rycote recommends for this mic is the 5,9" length which is B&H # RYS15M.

Yes. The Rycote 033014 Standard Hole Classic Softie Windscreen will accommodate microphones with a diameter of 19 to 22mm and the Audio-Technica AT4053b Hypercardioid Condenser Microphone has a diameter of 21mm, so they are compatible for use together.
