Created to address needs of tactical shooters, Trijicon's HD Night Sight Set for S&W M&P Shield Pistol consists of a front sight and a rear U-notch and features three battery-free tritium phosphor lamps and an orange phosphorescent disk that glows in the dark. The front sight has one tritium lamp encircled by a photoluminescent orange disk, while the rear U-notch only bears two tritium lamps, one on each wing. This configuration enhances visibility and fast target acquisition in transient lighting conditions. For added durability, the sight's lamps are encapsulated into aluminum cylinders and have silicone cushions. For protection against gun-cleaning agents and proper distribution of light, the lamps are also sealed with sapphire windows.
