Sturdy, but dimensions are a little off

Needed this for a heavy-duty job which I didn't trust plastic version. When I received the adapter, I was disappointed to find out it doesn't smoothly fit any metal or plastic mounts. It takes some serious strength (maybe even a hammer) to line up the mount to fit a screw through it & the camera. I thought it was a faulty part, exchanged it and had the same issues with the replacement. I think the dimensions for this product are just a little off. It's definitely more reliable than the plastic adapters that are on the market and have had no issues once I line up the holes.

The only con I have is that it slips easy. Because the metal doesn't squeeze the GoPro's plastic prongs, there is some slippage. It does hold firm and works for my applications, but I wouldn't be confident using it for any action camera mounting.

does it fit the Hero 4?

Yes, BUT I found it to fit a little snug if you're using the frame to mount your gopro. When I used the frame, it squeezed it a little too much to the point that the button pass-throughs did not function properly. Would be the same with either the gopro 3/3+, most likely. But if you're using one of the plastic enclosure housings, should be fine for any gopro.
