I have the 13' stand and I just measured it at just over 42 1/4" folded. I don't remember how it fit in the box.

No; this stand does not accept casters. The Baby Kit Stand-Black, #KS140511 will accept caster set #KS940322.

I plan to use the Kupo KG601711 baby boom with this stand along with Kupo KS940422 80mm caster wheel set. Compatible? The footprint diameter is adequate although I am concerned about the aluminum frame. The front-end load totals under 6.1 Lb. Importantly, will the castor set impede the function/ safety of the stand with boom?

Hi,This stand will easily hold the weight of 22 lbs. You can add a boom to this stand depending on the length of the boom and as always it is recommended to add counterbalance weight to offset the payload. This particular stand is not designed to add casters and as a result we do not recommend it.If casters are important I would look at the KS300712.
