Manfrotto's 190X3 Three Section Tripod with MHXPRO-2W Fluid Head is suitable for still photographers, video shooters, and even birdwatchers who want professional features in a small package. The included head supports over eight pounds of camera and accessories on a head with two fluid drag settings to smooth your tilts. The head allows you to tilt from straight down to almost straight up in one continuous move, and the quick release camera plate lets you quickly pull your camera from the head when you have to move quickly.
Two tilt drag settings allow you to adjust the head to match the needs of the shot, and the fixed pan settings provides you resistance for slow smooth pans. The aluminum legs feature a 10" triangular shaped center column that adds height while maintaining torsional stability. The spreaderless design and independent leg height adjustment allows you to use the legs on uneven surfaces without sufferening from wobble that ground level spreaders can cause. Four preset locking positions allow you to lower the legs to approx. 7.5" high or nearly to the ground with the optional ground level adapter.

Manfrotto MHXPRO Tripod System Reviews
Solid Choice
I am using this tripod with a Swaro spotting scope for birding and it has proven to be a good choice for my needs. The leg locks have a convenient design and the head controls are easily adjustable for pan and tilt. I was concerned with the weight and debated whether I should spend more money for a carbon model. With my scope the weight has been fine, although haven't carried it more that a mile yet.
Recommend
Everything I had hoped for no complaints Easy to use light sturdy great fluid head Four stars cause no carry bag.
Sturdy and solid
Great tripod with fluid head that does a great job when panning and zooming in at 20 power.
Very Nice Tripod
I've used this for about a month now and it is a major upgrade for me. I previously had a really nice (manfrotto) photography tripod, but shooting video with a photography tripod proved extremely difficult. The fluid head is really smooth and the construction is very solid. The only critique that I have is that the clips for the leg extensions can be difficult to unlock and lock- especially on the fly, but that is really not a big issue.
I would recommend this set up for mobile journalists
Needed a new tripod for shooting video with an iPhone and mobile journalist gear. Choose this set up with fluid head and it's really perfect. About 5 pounds total, sturdy and well made. The leg extensions work smoothly, and even fully extended, provides a nice base. Fluid head is smooth.
Decent piece of equipment for DSLRs
Nice and sturdy for it's size. Good fluid motion. One leg sticks a little bit, but that can be remedied. The extender latches are a bit, stubborn, but I imagine those will wear down in time, like most of my adversaries. Wish it came with a carrying case of some kind. I will have to carry it in a bag I fashioned from an old pair of blue jeans from when I was 200 pounds heavier.
just what I was looking for
I was bewildered by the number of options, at widely varying prices, for a tripod to use for birding with my spotting scope, and a seasoned birder recommended this one. It's perfect and was reasonably priced.
Manfrotto 190 X3 with fluid XPRO head
So far I have used the tripod only a small amount. However, it appears to be a very nice tripod, and the fluid head moves smoothly, which is what I wanted for taking video. I do have one critcism -- the bubble level was put in a hard-to-see location, and seeing it from directly above is not possible. You have to look off vertical. As a result, getting a precise level will be difficult.
