is there a limit to drive size for this unit? can it handle 2x18tb for example? has anyone tested Raid 1 on large drives?
According to the manufacture, the Buffalo 8TB DriveStation Duo should work with larger drive sizes, but they have not tested it with any drives other than the ones that ship with the enclosure, so there is currently no hard line spec on larger drive capacity, and, they also have said that removing the origional drives may void the warranty, so while we believe you could use 18TB drives in this enclosure, it may not be the best enclosure for the job.
