Utilizing a multi-layer coating process for consistent color rendition from lens to lens the Rokinon 35mm T1.5 Cine DS Lens answers the challenge of assembling a set of lenses over time. The lens comes in Sony E-Mount and features industry standard geared focus and iris rings that share common position with other Rokinon Cine DS lenses. To aid focus pullers who have to work both sides of the lens, the aperture and focus scales are marked on both sides of the lens.

This 35mm lens produces a 63.1° angle-of-view when used with a full-frame sensor camera. Hybrid aspherical lenses render sharply defined images with a minimum of distortion and chromatic aberrations, with a minimum focus distance of just under 12" from the lens. A removable petal shaped lens hood provides flare protection when shooting without a matte box, the lenses threaded front accepts a 77mm filter ring.

Please note that some cameras may require that Shutter Lock be disengaged when using this lens.

Ultra Multi Coated lenses minimize flare and ghosting, and the lenses are color matched to a standard eliminating the need to acquire an entire set of lenses at the same time.
Industry-standard gearing for focus and aperture rings. Each lens in the Rokinon DS series share common focus and iris gear ring positions, which speeds up lens changes as accessories such as follow focus units or iris motors don't have to be re-positioned.
"Declicked" aperture ring for smooth iris pulls.
A minimum focusing distance of 12" allows you to get up close to your subject.
A removable petal-type lens hood provides flare protection without a matte box.
The lens opens up to T1.5, providing the capability for low light shooting or creating extremely shallow depth of field.

35mm T1.5 Cine DS Lens for Sony E-Mount is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Lens For the price, the quality has exceeded expectations. I use in on a Sony a7S and it's been great. Has looked crisp, with tons of depth, on both video and picture. For it to fit the E-Mount, there is a piece that's been constructed onto the end, so it's a little longer than in b&h pictures. But still works fantastic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My first Rokinon / Sony FS5 Considererd the Veydra mini cini but chose the DS line of Rokinon for half the price. Images look great used with the SONY PXW-FS5. Clickless aperture ring is smooth as silk. Lens looks great attached to the FS5. It does breath so a apply a subtle tilt or pan when racking. No vignetting that I can see. Wish I can share more but new to this game.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Right on the money There's an interesting analogy that says if the camera is a food, then the lenses are the spices you pour on it; as a part of the generation that embraced dslr and for obvious budget reasons started using only photography lenses, moving forward to a cinema lens represented a huge profit for the final product as a whole. The ability of reaching the exact f stop without the infamous clicking makes everything so much easier, as sometimes you need something in between stops and don't have the time to balance a under or over exposed picture with ISO and/or aperture adjustments, especially when operating hand held. The only truly problem with this lens is the poor shadow hood clasping: it dangles around the rim and often falls off. Other than that, a great product, even kind enough to offer different mounts.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Optics of a Pro - Build of a Budget I just got this lens today am have to say that the image it produces is incredibly sharp. However, I did notice that the front element wobbles/shakes ever so slightly. I quickly googled the issues only to find a large number of people also experiencing the same problem. It doesn't affect image quality, but this is why Rokinon lenses are short term investments. I'm worried this wobble will, in years to come, result in a softer image due to shifts in actual elements. I read online someone say it very well, though the lens may not last you past three years (lens if you aren't careful with it) its still cheaper than a repair on a name brand pro series lens [not sure how accurate this statement is but it did seem to answer a lot of my doubts].

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Lens for the Price Used this lens for a short film shoot, totally worth it. It's a bit heavy, but aside from that, it's good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible Lens for the price I just shot a wedding with this lens on my Sony A7sii. Shot with it almost the entire day and it was a great lens to shoot with. Great bokeh and very sharp.
