I noticed that this lens’ hood does not come off like the longer lenses in the DS line. Will it still work with my matte box with 4x4” filters? I’m worred the built-in hood petals will block the filter from being inserted into the top of my matte box...
Asked by: Wil
You most likely will be unable to use your matte box. The glass on this lens actually bulges outside the body the lens which is why the hood is attached, to protect it. I had to take my matte box off because no matter how close I got it, it was still in frame. This lens is insanely wide.

Why choose the 14mm over the 16mm Rokinon Cine DS, other than T-stop?
Asked by: Robert
Along with being a bit faster it is also a bit wider. It is simply a matter of if you need the 14mm Focal Length or 16mm.

This lens has no front threads and the front element is very convex extending beyond where you might expect threads inside the petal shaped barrel.

question

Can this lens work great on a canon t6i/ 750D since its a crop sensor camera
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, it will actually use what some call the sweet spot of the lens on the crop sensor, and will also work on a super 35 or full frame. The only time you would run into an issue is if you were to use an APS-C crop sized lens on anything larger than APS-C, which would vignette given the lens projects a smaller frame than the sensor is picking up.
