Stop stray light from entering your lens with the Sensei PRO 52mm Aluminum Lens Hood, a screw-on type hood that attaches to most lenses with 52mm front filter threads. This hood will work with lenses 50mm and longer on full frame cameras or 28mm and longer on APS-C sensors. Lens hoods are primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. Also, since the end of the lens is extended and the hood features a durable anodized aluminum construction, you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact. Additionally, users can attach 58mm filters to the front opening and it has a non-glare matte finish on the inside to prevent reflections.

PRO 52mm Aluminum Lens Hood is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sufficient but be careful with lens caps This is a rather well-made item, and certainly does its job. However, the 52mm lens hood does not allow a Sensei 52mm lens cap to be placed in front over the inner opening. A 52mm Nikon lens cap (pinch center) fits snugly, while the Sensei caps are slightly too wide. Sensei 52mm caps do work well on the B+W hoods (which are significantly longer than this, and 3x the price), sitting either just inside the front lip or back inside against the lens opening. The inside front rim of this cap is also threaded, but I'm not sure what the diameter is has - presumably a larger cap could be made to work here.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ex. The Sensei Pro lens hoods are high-end equipment I bought a number of these recently to go with a Canon FD lens set I acquired for a backup video camera setup. The old plastic Canon lens hoods were too worn and would come off too easily, and didn't have a consistent size and shape. The Sensei lens hoods can be recommended - they are strong, well-designed and beautifully finished. Be aware that the 52mm unit has a 58mm front lens thread, a useful feature IMO.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well made and convenient I found nothing to complain in the looks or construction of this part. It fits neatly on my Voigtlander Ultron 40mm lens, used on a full-frame Sony A7, and there is no vignetting. I can keep it on the lens at all times and use a generic 58mm lens cap. It's also possible to thread on a 58mm filter, and I still see no vignetting, although it's pretty close. I wouldn't put this hood on anything wider than a 40mm lens, but for my use it's ideal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Quality This is a nicely finished, heavy gauge aluminum lense hood. It fits onto my Sony 16-50mm e-mount zoom with the aid of a Sensie 40.5 mm-52mm adapter and looks great. This hood was not really designed for my specific application and I knew that before my purchase. I get some vignetting when the lense is zoomed to than 20mm. Since I seldom go there with this lense its not hurting me and is doing a fine job at other focal lengths.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not suitable for Sigma DP1M It is a good lens hood with solid build and fine finishing. The high light said For Lenses 28mm and Longer (APS-C). I bought it for my Sigma DP1M but it creates dark corners. It's obviously not suitable for 28mm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better/As Good as B&W hoods Compared to B&W 52mm...Just as well built and finished for 1/3 the cost! I just bought these hoods for my Canon 10X42 IS binos. The fit is superb and the Sensei 58mm lens caps (center-pinch type) fit these hoods like a glove, very satisfied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works perfectly. I bought this for one of my Helios 44m's, if you have used one you are probably aware that even with the recessed front element - it still flares like crazy. This hood does the trick, and as an added bonus looks great on the bokeh beast!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product This really is a first-rate lens hood. I leave it permanently on my lens. It has a screw in filter thread at the front, so I also bought the pinch cap that fits. You get decent shading for the lens, and good protection.
