Key Features
  • Fits Lenses with 58mm Filter Threads
  • Optimized for Use with Wide-Angle Lenses
  • For Lenses 24mm and Longer (Full-Frame)
  • For Lenses 18mm and Longer (APS-C)
Stop stray light from entering your lens with the Sensei PRO 58mm Wide Angle Aluminum Lens Hood, a screw-on type hood that is designed for use with wide-angle lenses with 58mm front filter threads. This hood is compatible with lenses 24mm and longer on full-frame cameras, or 18mm and longer on cameras with APS-C sensors. The primary purpose of a lens hood is to shield the lens from unwanted stray light by extending and shading its end. Since the hood extends the front end of the lens, it provides the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact. The front opening of the hood features a 82mm filter thread, allowing filters and other accessories to be attached.

question

Can I use this hood to adapt to a clamp on matte box?
Asked by: Renato O.
We would never recommend such a use. All we can envision is a expensive matte box with equally expensive filters disengaging from this and taking a one-way trip to concrete with shattering results.
