    Tascam US-2X2 Reviews

US-2x2 2-Channel USB Audio Interface is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Interface - I love mine and would recommend it I bought this because I wanted an interface that would work in Linux (Debian Jessie) and Windows 7 because I thought I was having hardware issues with my current interface. I was wrong, but was pleasantly surprised by how well this one works. It runs directly off of USB power, plugged in and away I went. The people I talk to and record for (Voice Over) commented how much clearer I was. I don't have to remember to turn on the phantom power, as it is on a switch, the other settings stay between power-ups. It just works. I have recorded using my microphone and using some low-level inputs and it worked great. Some settings required the driver / mixer application to be installed on Windows.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great product I play bass and guitar. in this area, i'm a novice and had a steinberg ur12, which was not really impressive. Then i tried the tascam us-2x2 and i can guarantee you, this one runs and sounds better. The ableton live lite, compare to cubase, is easy to use. Beside of this, it's very rugged built. And With the functions, it gives you everything you need, as a beginner or intermediate. Great job!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from driver and/or firmware problems Oct 28, 2014 - I received this item and followed the included instructions to proceed to the Tascam site to download the latest drivers for the unit. While at the site I noticed there was a firmware update as well. I downloaded and installed both the firmware (V1.00)to the unit and the driver (V1.00)to the computer. Everything went smoothly. I go the system up and running easily and was pleased when things seemed to work as I hoped. The unit sounds good.Unfortunately, I've run into a couple problems. When switching between files that have different sample rates, it takes about 10 seconds to properly play. This is also accompanied with a drastic change in volume from soft to loud as the unit noisily adjusts to the new sample rate while playing. It sucks to be honest. The other issue I've noticed is that when you turn the input/computer knob all the way to computer there is an audible distortion whenever the sound file has peaks within a couple dB of zero. As it is functioning now, I can't recommend the unit at all. I'm guessing it's only a matter of getting driver and firmware issues sorted out. Hopefully it won't take long because I believe I would enjoy the unit otherwise. An email sent to Tascam hasn't yet been responded to yet. I'm using Windows 7 64.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product for a great price I ordered this to use with OSX and IOS. It works great with no drivers, will work stand-alone, and even though the manual and tascam tech support couldn't help regarding questions about how to do 96kHz/24 bit recording with IOS it became apparent to me that when using software (such as MultiTrackDAW for IOS), you can change the sampling rate and bit depth via the app. When using with iphone or ipad it works either via a powered hub between the IOS device and interface, or with power to the device via the 5V barrel plug input on the back. Perhaps the most cost effective way of adding high resolution A/D D/A to a computer or IOS device. Four starts only because the level of support/documentation, and availability of native (to each platforms OS) control software is not available/equivalent to higher end professional equipment (e.g. RME, MOTU AVB). For the $$ I would give it a 5.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product I have had a Tascam 2x2 for about two months. Running on Windows 8.1 x64 Laptop running the lastest firmware and drivers the sound is outstanding from this unit. for the price it is a great unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great size and function for live and studio applications. This unit works as advertised. Great for a small set up. Really like the old school midi in and out connections. Fits easily on my keyboard when playing live.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Native software and drivers are abysmal For the interface to be even recognized by your computer the tascam settings panel has to be opened first. This then sends three signals to your computer: the audio out, input 1 and input 2. Furthermore, because of this using any ASIO in a daw is a nightmare. Also, still cant figure out how to consistently get windows 10 to recognize the interface as a microphone. Overall, the hardware is great, the software is terrible. Do not get this interface if you have never used one before, get a Scalett solo or 2i2.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes I would buy it again. Excellent equipment added to my audio studio. I use it very day in post or production of voice overs.
