Will this work on a sigma 100-400mm lens?
Asked by: Cassandra
According to the user manual for the Sigma 100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS, "This lens can be used as a 1.4x (140-560mm F7-9) or a 2x (200-800mm F10-12.6) hyper-telephoto zoom lens by attaching SIGMA TELE CONVERTER TC-1401 or SIGMA TELE CONVERTER TC-2001 respectively. (Both can be used in manual focus only.)"

question

Does this work on 17-70 contemporary lens?
Asked by: Xin W.
The Sigma TC-2001 2x Teleconverter for Sigma SA will not be compatible with the Sigma Contemporary 17-70mm lens, no. This teleconverter is only compatible with a select number of Sigmas telephoto zoom lenses. Typically, lenses with a focal length wider than 50mm are not compatible with teleconverters due to their lens construction. Attempting to use a teleconverter with a lens with a focal length wider than 50mm, you would risk damaging the rear element of the lens and the teleconverter itself.
