does this cable lay flat? and can it still lay flat after being recoiled/spooled?
Belden 1694A has a solid copper core so there will be a lot of shape memory in the cable and will not be flat right after you unspool it. You might consider 1694F. It is designed as a flex cable so it will have much less shape memory.See link. http://bhpho.to/1h8ZA78

for 12G i your best to go with Belden 4794R, but from what i understand 1694A can work, but pretty dependant on your other pieces and lengths.
