You need a Female 3/8 thread on the bottom of your monopod in order for this to work.

What's the max load capacity?

What's the max load capacity?
Asked by: Bill
This is a multi-faceted topic. The answer could vary by a factor of ten, from several pounds down to just a few ounces. I have used this monopod base to hold a heavy DSLR with 70-200... and I've used it with a phone. It's worked with both of those. However... Using this base indoors, I have left the phone standing by itself, on a monopod with medium-weight fluid head. But working outdoors -- with the same monopod, head and base -- I would not let go of a DSLR for even one second! Effective load capacity of the base includes several variables that are controlled by you, the user. The main ones are the tightness of the adjuster bolts, and the load leverage. The tighter that you make the adjuster bolts (see the instructions for the bolt locations), the higher the effective load capacity. The closer that the load is to the base, both vertically and horizontally, the higher the effective load capacity. Other factors are controlled by the manufacturer. Those include the length of the legs on the base and the materials used in the various pieces of the base. Every product is a compromise. Longer legs will increase load capacity, because they resist tipping more than short legs. Heavier and higher quality materials will increase load capacity, in part because they resist bending, and in part because they can be tightened more. Finally, the load capacity of an assembly is the capacity of the weakest link. Good luck!
