Great Jib

This is my first time purchasing a jib. I was concerned about the quality at that priced but is surprised so far by its good performance. I purchased the 4’ extension for a better reach and the jib stand for my church. ProAm Motorized tilt head sits on the end of it with my GH5 attached. I wished the strengthening cables were sold with the jib. Don’t make it an option. I will pay the additional funds. The connection between the stand and the jib could’ve been more sturdier. The tilt brake seem to have little or no effect on the jib but it may be the result of the weight we have on it. To break the jib down isn’t a long process. I did it by myself less than 20 minutes or fewer. Setting up for the first time was ok once I stuck to the manual. Overall it works for what we need it for.

Good product with quality construction. Easy to put together and use. Hand tilt was a little stiff, but over time it loosened up. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase of the crane.

question

How does this mount to a tripod? I have a D&S Provista 18. Does it mount in the quick release plate, or will I need an adaptor?
Asked by: shan
The Orion DVC210 DSLR Camera Crane / Jib (8') quickly mounts to a standard tripod quick release plate using either 1/4 -20 or 3/8 -16 threads.

Reference 6th photo of DVC 210 crane/jib. Can someone identify the tilt head in the photo?
Asked by: Van
According to ProAm, this is the Micro Fluid Head 3126 by Manfrotto - which is unfortunately no longer sold by B&H. A similar alternative to this item is the Manfrotto 128RC MA128RC (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/553886-REG/Manfrotto_128RC_128RC_QR_Micro_Fluid.html)

No, the added mounting head shown in the 6th image is not included. You will need a separate head to point the camera directly down.

Is there a provision to lock the ProAm DVC 210 crane/jib into a position?
Asked by: Van
To lock this jib into position, there are two items required. For tilt, use the Tilt Brake PRTILT (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1090197-REG/proam_usa_camera_crane_tilt_brake.html). For panning, use the 360° Pan Lockable Bearing Mount PRDVC38BM (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1090196-REG/proam_usa_dvc_38bm_360_deg_pan_lockable_bearing.html)

question

does this come with a case?
Asked by: Patricia T.
No, it does not. Not coming with a case is for the people who will keep the crane in the studio and never go on location. For those of you more adventurous types, here is the recommended carrying case. ProAm USA Extra-Large Camera Crane Carrying Bag for HD750 B&H # PRCRNBAG750.
