Bluestar 6012U Reviews
Falls off too easily, but otherwise good
I have bought several of these of the correct size to fit my Zacuto Gratical Eye. First the good news: it's comfortable and does stop the evf fogging most of the time. But so far I've lost three of them, one almost unused, as they have a tendency to pop off when put in or out of a camera bag or when carrying. I have tried using strong double sided tape to keep in place and this helps a bit. It surprises me they pop off so easily as it's quite a tight fit. Also not cheap when converted to NZ Dollars and even the cheapest shipping costs more than the item.
Soft against eye
The ultra suede is very soft against the eye and skin.
Prevents glasses smudges with rubber eye cups
I purchased a few of these to use on my TV camera viewfinder and the Arri Alexa viewfinder. I wear glasses and need something to keep the rubber eye cups from smearing the lenses. These eye cushions work very well. They take a little finessing to get on the rubber eye cup. The will fall off with some heavy movement such as that while using the camera for a football game or basketball game. I have bumped it off while walking and carrying the camera beside my leg during a football game. But they do help keep my glasses from getting too smudged. The price is also good.
Eye comfort
These eye cushions make viewing more comfortable on hot days. And in the winter you don’t feel the shock of putting your face on a cold rubber eyecup
Eye Cushion for Viewfinder
I have glasses and I had a lot of problems getting smears on my glasses from the rubber eye cup of my camera. I use both a Broadcast TV camera and a cinema camera. This is a soft solution to protect your eye and glasses from the smearing of the camera viewfinder. The company recommended the Ultrasuede version for people that wear glasses. It is working great for me. It is not easy to get this on the rubber eye piece, but it's not as bad a others have mentioned. The existing rubber eyepiece goes in between the layers of the Bluestar Eyecushion. The first step is to get the larger portion of the rubber eyepiece through the smaller round hole in the back of the Eyecushion. Then feed the rest of the rubber eyepiece into the hole between the back portion and front portion of the Bluestar eyecushion. Just work your way around until all the rubber eyepiece is in. Then adjust it for position and fit. If you bump it or pull on it, it will come off again. It probably takes a minute to re-install. It has kept my glasses cleaner while working. The Oval Large was recommended for a full size broadcast camera viewfinder with the oval rubber eyepiece. It may look a little small, but it fits just fine. You want it to fit tight without a lot of play, so it stays on. I'm glad I purchased it, I have 4 of these now. One for each camera and a couple of extras when they get too dirty. I'm going to try washing it as see if that works.
So far so good
Good so far. It fits over my xdcam eye cup. Will it stay clean? Will it be easy to clean?
Never Again
Never use a rubber eyepiece without these Bluestar eye cushions...super comfortable and absorb sweat
Comfy!
I know you should change every use, but able to get a solid few weeks of shooting before they go black.
