Key Features
  • 1/4"-20 Camera Mount,
  • 3/8"-16 Tripod Socket with 1/4"-20 Plug
  • 0-90° Vertical Adjustment
  • 360° Horizontal Adjustment
The second version of iOptron's SkyTracker Ball Head is an independently-adjustable pan and tilt mounting platform for the SkyTracker Camera Mount. The included 2.25 x 1.5" quick release plate has a series of non-marking pads to protect the base of the SkyTracker from scratches, and the 1/4"-20 mounting screw has a foldable D-ring to secure the SkyTracker to the QR plate without tools. Redundant plate locks and a 1.5" aluminum ball provide this head with the features needed to help keep your rig from accidentally slipping off the mounting system.

I'm not sure of the term for the slot for vertical movement. But, is that slot on the front and back of the head?
Asked by: Robert
The notches in the front and back of the iOptron SkyTracker Ball Head v2 allow the camera to be positioned vertical for portrait photos. This is a common feature found on most ball heads, not just an iOptron head.

Will this ball head fit a telescope vixen dovetail?
Asked by: Richard
Yes, I believe it will. But, check first. The Vixen is fairly narrow. The Losmandy, for example , is not. My 2 cents.
