    Benro LBA2 reviews

LBA2 Leveling Base is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well made and sturdy This seems to be a sturdy well made leveling base. When locked down it's very solid. It's not the lightest nor lowest profile one I have, for my use it's not a problem. However, there is one thing that is a major drawback for me, it has a small hard to see buble level. My eyes are closer to 60 than 50 and I am often using it in dim light and it's hard for me to see. I have an Acratech and it has an excelent bubble level, twice as large and much easier to see. It's also more expensive and may not be support quite as heavy a load. In good light with good eyes it's very good. Check out the photo of the two.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Video Head leveling Works great when special mobility or other travel considerations require that you to mount your video head and camera on a set photo tripod legs. Rather then fiddling with the tripod leg extensions to establish a level panning plane, this base allows you to level the upper table while referencing its built-in circular bubble level. Simply loosen and tighten the single side leveling control to lock down your final adjustment. It comfortably handles the weight of a fluid video head and mid-sized camcorder. This base is impractical for stills where a ball head is much preferred (perhaps except for panorama stitching and interior real estate 360).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from reliability problems When I first bought this it was perfect suited it's purpose very well. I loved the dual spring loaded thread as I interchange between two different tripod heads with different threads. Fast forward after 6 months of mild use and the spring loaded thread got stuck down and wouldn't budge. So started using a thread adapter on my head to alleviate the problem. A few weeks later and the bubble level just fell out of its mount. I'm now having trouble getting the locking mechanism to lock it properly. Will be sending it back, and will have to wait and see in another 6 months about reliability.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Level Headrd I wanted to use a slider for travel, so light weight was a must. But I needed a tight lockdown since the weight is always shifting on the slider. This fits the bill. Light and tight. Nicely made with good materials, lock down lever is adjustable which is good. The movement is smooth. One thing that I would change is the spring loaded 3/8 mount. Solid 3/8 would be more simple and rugged. All heads are 3/8 anyway. And I would rather eliminate any moving part that can fail during a shoot. It's always these tiny little things that can wreck a shoot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product. An excellent addition to my Benro tripod. I have a Benro tripod with a Wimberly gimbal head. After reading various magazine articles, owner review comments and evaluations on the internet I found that best use of the tripod and head required that the gimbal head be level for proper balance of the camera and lens. This would also assure proper vertical and horizontal alignment for orientation of the lens with the horizon and vertical edges of buildings, doors etc. Every thing that I saw and read indicated that this was the leveling base that was the most accurate and easiest one to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly What I needed After awhile of reading reviews, I decided to take a gamble and pick this up. I say gamble because I coudln't find a single review about this Leveling Base. It's a bit on the pricey side, but well worth the money as it can support 100+ pounds and has a convenient 3/8 and 1/4 thread built right in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keep your head level, man! Yes, it works, it's solid, and locks down tight. Repositionable knob is great. Exactly what you're looking for in a leveling head.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Versatile This product is great for when you want to upgrade your tripod to handle heavier duty cameras. Since this can handle 25 pounds, I have no problem mounting a slider on top of it or possibly a shoulder rig. This makes me feel confident that this is future-proof.
