The MCEX-16 16mm Extension Tube from Fujifilm is is a dedicated extension tube that is designed exclusively for XF and XC lenses and X-series cameras. Mounting an extension tube between a lens and a camera body increases the distance between the lens elements and the sensor enabling users to focus closer than the normal minimum focus distance of the lens.
question
Are their body caps available for both the MCEX-11 and MCEX-16 extension tubes? They do not come with anything protecting the contacts.
You could look into getting a padded lens pouch.

question
I just purchased the MCES-16 and I am finding that my X-T1 camera will not focus at all with the XF18-55mm lens. Am I missing a setting or something or is the tube defective?
Thanks to everyone who answered my question. I finally was able to get it to work with my 18-55 lens. I found that I have to zoom it all the way out and then get a certain close distance from the subject before it wil work. But, it does work! Happy about that! Now i just need to start focus stacking I think! Thanks again everyone!

question
Can you use this along with the MCEX-11 at the same time, to further increase macro abilities?
Extension tubes can be stacked, in this case giving the equivalent of 16+11=27mm.

Specifically, I have the 50mm f2 Fuji lens. I need to shoot a bunch of 3X5 index cards. Do I need the MCEX-11 or MCEX-16?
FUJIFILM MCEX-11 11mm Extension Tube for Fujifilm X-Mount will be a better combination with your 50mm f/2 lens to make reproductions of a 3x5 index card. Please be aware that you can only focus from the minimum focus distance using an extension tube.
If you use FUJIFILM MCEX-16 16mm Extension your lens will only be able to focus on a small segment of your 3x5 index card.

how does this work on the 56mm? and how do I ...
how does this work on the 56mm? and how do I check to see what other lenses it will fit on? i donot see any lens measures like my 56mm is a 62, my 50-140 is a 72
Extension tubes fit between the back of the lens and the camera body to reduce the minimum focus distance of any lens you put on it. It's another way to get macro levels of magnification. You're referencing filter sizes for various lenses: 62, 72. Filter size is totally irrelevant with extension tubes. So, yes, this will work on the 56mm. and the 50-140, and many more.
