This forest green camo Lens Cover from LensCoat fits a onto Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Sports lens, and covers it with a 100% closed-cell neoprene coat to protect the lens from bumps and scratches, helping preserve its value and condition. Its insulated design provides a thermal barrier to protect your hands when working in colder temperatures, and it is also waterproof to protect your lens when you are working in wet weather. For maintained control and usability, clear UV-PVC windows cover the autofocus and image stabilizer controls, as well as the distance scale. An extra piece of covering is also included for protecting the exposed portion of the lens when it is fully zoomed out; this piece can be quickly attached to the main covering with the use of touch fasteners. Suited for photojournalists and sports shooters, this cover also breaks up the shape of the lens to make it beneficial for wildlife and nature photographers as well.

question
Will it fit the Contemporary Lens version? (not sure the main difference between the two)
No, that will not fit properly. The contemporary version of the lens is approximately 4.1 x 10.2 (10.41 x 25.91 cm) and the sports version is approximately 4.8 x 11.4 (12.19 x 28.96 cm).

question
can I use this for EOS 6D camera?
Yes, but the cover is only for the lens. But the lens is good for the 6D.

question
Since this lens extends when zoomed, if you have the Lens Coat on the lens barrel at 600mm, does that mean you would have to remove it in order to retract the lens back to 150mm?
Lens Coat only covers the parts of then lens, when the lens is retracted, so when you extend the lens, that portion will be exposed.
